Thoroughly inspect your property for all possible entry points. Seal every gap, crack, or crevice larger than 1cm except for the main entry and exit point currently used by the colony. This forces all bats to use a single dedicated exit.

Attach a one-way valve, bat cone or exclusion netting over the remaining main entry point. These devices allow bats to drop out and fly away in the evening but prevent them from crawling back inside when they return from foraging.

Monitor Exit Activity

Finally, perform a deep clean and sanitization of the area to remove droppings. Bat droppings can carry fungal spores, so it is advisable to wear gloves and mask during cleaning. Mist lightly, avoid sweeping and stirring up dry guano (bat droppings). Always bag waste securely.
